Marshmallow Root Information

Marshmallow (Althaea Root) is dried, peeled root from a perennial cultivated in Europe and harvested in the Autumn from plants at least two years old. It has been knwon in Britain since Roman times.

The roots of the Marshmallow plant contain an ingredient called mucilage, a natural gummy substance that swells up when exposed to fluids and coats the linings of the mouth, throat and stomach to relieve irritation and control coughing associated with respiratory conditions. In the respiratory system, it acts as a soothing expectorant, loosening and encouraging the removal of phlegm. It is useful for soothing dry coughs, inflamed and irritated throats, hoarseness and getting rid of persistent catarrh.

Directions
Take one capsule a day with food.
