Beta Carotene is thought to scavenge 'free radicals' from the body. In excess, free radicals may contribute to cell and tissue damage. Beta Carotene is a powerful antioxidant, as well as being the precursor of Vitamin A. It may help protect the body from harmful excess free radicals. Beta Carotene is also thought to help night vision, and may help to maintain the body's natural defences.
