What is BetaFactor

It is a unique compound derived from the cell walls of yeast. Research indicates that Beta-1,3-D Glucan triggers an immune reaction against viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic or neoplastic invaders. Its potent anti-oxidant properties impart effective free radical scavenging activity.

How Does It Work?

Immune Activator: Beta-1,3-D Glucan works by activating the macrophages or immune cells, which trap and engulf foreign substances, similar to the way a "Pac Man" works in the popular game. Researchers find that the activated cells start a cascade effect in which the the entire immune system may be strengthened, alerted and mobilized. The result is an amplified immune system response until the "invaders" are defeated.

History of Beta-1,3-D Glucan

In the 1940's research yielded a substance that had immune activating properties called Zymosan. It was not known until the 1960's which element caused the response, when Nicholas DiLuzio at Tulane University experimented with Beta-1,3-D Glucan. In the 1970's, testing with Beta-1,3-D Glucan in humans began. By the 1980's, Harvard University was describing this remarkable substance as an immune enhancing agent, actually helping trigger the body to use its own natural "arsenal of defenses."

History & Sciences

In a study conducted by Dr. Peter Mansell of Baylor University, Beta 1-3-D Glucan from yeast was injected under skin nodules of malignant melanoma. Subsequent biopsies of these sites demonstrated no evidence of the melanoma, but rather a collection of activated macrophages (types of white blood cells).

Clinical trials continue to demonstrate the ability of Beta 1,3 D Glucan and the scientific potential in addressing a myriad of conditions ranging from severe malignancies to serious bacterial and viral infections. This safe, natural supplement has also been found to help individuals who have been exposed to excessive radiation and/or UV rays. Research reports continue to point to an augmenting effect that Beta 1,3 D Glucan provides when used in conjunction with antibiotic and antiviral treatments.

Can I take Beta-1,3-Glucan if I am allergic to yeast?
Although derived from a bakers yeast, Beta-1,3-Glucan is a pure isolate and does not contain any yeast proteins that would cause an allergic reaction.
